    Issuing orders Empty Issuing orders

There's an incongruity between you as the player having a plan, intentions and what a game is able to do for you.

In Stellaris you can queue orders, but the execution of that leaves a lot to be desired. Namely if you intend on having soldiers invade a planet but the planet is too well defended and you're waiting on your ships to soften it up as a target there's no way of telling your troops to land once they can win the fight, you have to baby-sit the system and check the planet itself if you want to avoid wasted time.
Simultaneously, you can't queue a movement order for a fleet if the destination is behind an FTL blocker, never mind the fact that your fleet is about to enter the system with said blocker and it won't be an issue in a few minutes.
It's micro that can be solved with a mission statement or agenda planner, you have an empire to run things like this shouldn't be at the forefront of your attention.

Another example, in Shadows of Forbidden Gods making progress with the magic system begins with your agents infiltrating libraries on the map to obtain arcane secrets. You must manually move your agent from library to library in efforts to corrupt them to your side.
There ought to be a drop-down menu with standing order of "Go here, do thing, go here, do other thing."

So in my game a thing known as a "Plot" will be the player giving a series of missions to be done in an order by a single agent, requiring zero micromanagement after the plot had been laid out.

It woulnd't even need to be a single Agent involved, you issue a mission and have requirement of "5 sword skill" be needed for an agent to start the mission. Allowing you to make a situation where one agent instagates some civil unrest and as soon as that number reaches a point you've decided is enough(say you want to start a mission at 50 unrest) another agent will immidatly start the mission you've set up without you needing to do anything beyond the initial set up.
